About the Role

We are seeking a disciplined and field-oriented Field Officer to support and oversee certified seed production activities across our project locations. You will play a key role in ensuring seed quality, supporting outgrowers and partner farmers, and maintaining compliance with seed certification standards. Working closely with farm teams, growers, and regulatory bodies, you will help drive efficient field execution, accurate reporting, and high-quality seed production across multiple crop cycles.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Agronomy, Crop Production, Agricultural Extension, Crop Protection, or a related field • Minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in seed production or commercial crop production • Good understanding of seed certification procedures and quality assurance practices • Experience working with farmers, outgrowers, or field production teams • Strong field monitoring, reporting, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently across rural project locations • Good communication and farmer engagement skills • Willingness to travel regularly across assigned field locations • Proficiency in basic digital tools including Excel, WhatsApp, and GPS tools

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise certified seed production fields across assigned locations • Conduct field inspections including rouging, germination checks, pest and disease monitoring • Ensure compliance with NASC seed certification standards and internal quality requirements • Support and provide technical guidance to outgrowers and partner farmers • Maintain accurate field records and prepare timely production reports • Coordinate input distribution and monitor proper usage on field locations • Identify field challenges early and recommend practical agronomic solutions • Support seed inspection activities and liaise with relevant regulatory agencies • Work closely with farm teams to ensure quality seed production across multiple crop cycles
